About Us
Hi there, I’m Abby Applegate - Founder and creator of Apple Basket Adaptive Learning. As a former homeschooler, a dyslexic learner myself, and now a homeschooling mom of five, my heart behind these materials is simple: to meet your students exactly where they are on their reading and writing journey and equip them with supplemental tools to feel capable and encouraged.
Growing up with dyslexia, I know what it feels like to think, “I just don’t get it.” To feel different from peers who seem to breeze through reading. To wonder if there’s a cap on your potential because of how your brain works. These experiences fuel my desire to create resources that honor students who have similar feelings.
Our Mission
You’ll notice that none of our materials include grade levels. This is intentional. Whether your student is just beginning their journey in kindergarten or is in fifth or sixth grade, these tools are designed to meet your students exactly where they are. Perhaps your student is progressing well but needs reinforcement with certain phonograms or is still working to build the foundational blocks of reading. Our hope is that these resources can come alongside you to support them with clarity and encouragement. These materials are not intended to replace a full curriculum. Instead, they serve as targeted support in the areas where students struggle most.
What We Believe About Learning
At Apple Basket Adaptive Learning, we believe every student deserves instruction that respects their pace, honors their strengths, and supports their challenges. We believe that when students engage with concepts through sight, sound, and meaningful practice, they are set up for genuine success.
As a Christian company, we hold 3 John 1:4 as a foundational reminder of our deepest mission: that students would grow and learn in the truth. This verse shapes our heart for the children and families we serve.
